What are the Badlands?

A longtime home and spiritual center to Native Americans—and located in the western portions of both North and South Dakota—the name Badlands comes from French trappers, who once referred to the area as "Bad lands to travel across."

This exhibition—by far the largest SnakPak has mounted to date—focuses on Badlands National Park, a US Government managed portion of the Badlands, near Interior, South Dakota and the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation.
